ECCOTOPIA EEC conducted Occupational Safety and Health training course at the Belbais Tank Terminal, Egypt. Staff received five modules on how to minimize risks associated with their work environment and how to deal with emergency situations.
The first module explained in details the different types of fire alarms and detection systems, and their various mechanisms for signaling and notifying a central monitoring station.
The second module covered a lot of information about fires. It explained the different types and properties, as well as how you to tell them apart from each other and the appropriate equipment needed for fire fighting.
The third module outlined the different types of safety equipment and potential chemical hazards that can affect workers. It also gave tips on how to avoid them, like wearing protective gear or handling certain substances only with proper ventilation.
The fourth module explained in detail how to prepare for emergencies and how to act during an emergency call. It also gave specific roles for each entity or person who took this module, which made this training engaging and much easier to understand.
The fifth and final module provided an in-depth explanation of Occupational Safety and Health guidelines, with a brief revision on the previous four modules.
